Deliveries

All our prices include delivery charges. The default price includes UK postage – if you select a location outside the UK, the price will change to reflect the increased postage costs. We only add the difference in price between UK and overseas destinations.

Yes, we do. When you order an item, you must use a drop-down box to select your location – this will change the price because it includes the increased delivery charge (the increase represents the actual additional cost of posting overseas, using economy mail). For further information on delivery times outside the UK, please follow the Delivery link at the bottom of each page.

Occasionally, some titles may not be available for overseas delivery when the size, weight, scarcity or value may make carriage difficult to arrange. If one of these books is of particular interest, please contact us and we will see what might be arranged.

Please note that we do not pay taxes due (we mail DDU: Delivery Duty Unpaid) on items delivered to EU addresses. Ordering any item for delivery to the EU indicates your acceptance to pay any charges due on delivery.

We use Royal Mail for all our deliveries, unless it is large or heavy when we will use a courier. We try to post orders as soon as possible and at minimum every Thursday, though this may take longer if we are on expedition, for example. We are then reliant on Royal Mail for the timing of a delivery. These are not tracked (if you wish a tracked service, please enquire about the additional cost involved).

Yes, you may choose a different address during checkout; this is perfect for sending a gift to someone else, or having your own order sent to a work address.

You will have set up your Invoice address during registration (this is usually your home address – your confirmation e-mails and invoice will be sent here, and this must match the address registered with your bank for your credit or debit card). You can add other addresses in My Account and select one of these to use for delivery, as you require.

This situation may arise with second-hand books where only one is available for sale, and limitations of the software prevents it showing in more than one destination option. Contact us with this and any other query and we'll do our best to help. Wild Places is a small organisation and we are flexible enough to sort out most problems if we know what is wanted.

Since July 2021 the EU has required that any items, including books and magazines, brought into the EU will be taxed at the country's VAT rate. By ordering any items from Wild Places, you are accepting that any taxes or handling fees required by your country will be your responsibility. All our sales are despatched as VAT exclusive (we do not charge VAT on publications, and do not pay the VAT or other charges levied within the EU). You will be required to pay any charges on delivery and accept this condition when you place your order.
